Arrested Development Movie, Michael Cera Update

For once and for all, the Arrested Development movie is happening!

- Will Arnett

We'll gladly take Arnett's word for this, as most cast and crew affiliated with the former Fox sitcom have confirmed a big screen version is in the works.

The one actor still not signed on for it? Michael Cera.

George-Michael Bluth

When asked about Cera's status for the film, Arrested Development creator Mitch Hurwitz told E! Online that he hopes George-Michael Bluth can be a part of the movie, as he's "just trying to get all the actors on board."

"I know he's thinking about it," Jason Bateman said about Cera. "And we're all awaiting some finality to all of that so Mitch can get writing."

So, why is the young Superbad star holding out?

"You'd have to get [Michael] on the phone to get his answer about whether he's going to come back and do it or not," Bateman said. "He's certainly not said that he won't do it. I think Michael is clearly the guy that has come out of Arrested Development with a very big plate, so I think he's trying to really give some responsible thought to what makes sense for him to do with his career. The guy is 20 years old and I'm sure he doesn't want to screw up this opportunity."

A bit of background for non-comic book geeks:

Morbius was a Nobel-prize winning biochemist. He attempted to cure a rare blood disease with a combination of vampire bats and electroshock therapy... leading to vampire-like characteristics, as well as a really bad headache.

A New Joker for The Dark Knight Sequel?

Might another actor attempt to fill the impressive shoes left by Heath Ledger in The Dark Knight?

At last night’s Golden Globe Awards, producer Chuck Roven told MTV that he and The Dark Knight director Christopher Nolan and writer David Goyer were “talking and thinking” about the next film.

As for one of the most popular topics among movie fans - who will fill portray the latest villains to Batman? - Roven had an interesting take:

“We have to separate the actors from the role,” said Roven. “On a personal level, Heath was a friend of mine. We had worked together before The Dark Knight, but I still think that The Dark Knight is its own thing, and we have to separate them."

What a Joker

Might another actor dare to take on The Joker? Would you wanna see one try?

Jamie King Confirms Sin City 2

According to Jamie King, a Sin City sequel is definitely in the works.

Here's what the actress had to say about the follow-up, when asked by Collider:

Frank Miller just finished the script. I was with him the other night. He just finished it and the thing is…I think when Sin City came out it was such a big hit for the studio but the studio is frustrating…sometimes studios are awesome because they have a great vision for something, but then they want to do weird things with the second one.

Robert didn’t want to go down that route, so we’ve just be waiting till somebody knocked some sense into them, where we can do it the way we want to do it. None of the filmmakers or the actors were willing to sacrifice doing it any other way other than what we wanted to do it. I’m hoping we’ll do it sometime this year. But you know how movies are…

I remember I was with Robert and he said we’re going in two months. I was like okay, we’ll have to work out everybody’s schedule. But then it got pushed. So you never really know with movies. It happens when it happens.
