Reel Movie Reviews: Bangkok Dangerous

Somehow, the 1995 movie Leaving Las Vegas produced an Academy Award win for Nicolas Cage and a nomination for Elizbaeth Shue. Neither star has come close to replicating that success in the 13 years since.

Now, each is starring in a new movie. Shue is actually receiving rave reviews for her part in Hamlet 2, but we can't say the same for Cage.

His one-note performance in Bangkok Dangerous isn't enough to overcome a tiresome story about a retiring assassin. We've seen it all before: the killer with a conscience, the chase sequences through the streets of a dimly-lit city, Cage's monotone.

Those are just a few of the reasons why our Bangkok Dangerous review is less than stellar. Check it out in full now.
