Next Batman Movie Rumored for 2011

We still haven't gotten over the possibility of Cher as Catwoman in The Dark Knight follow-up.

But regardless of who portrays the next Batman villain, The Wall Street Journal reports that:

"The studio is set to announce its plans for future DC movies in the next month. For now, though, it is focused on releasing four comic-book films in the next three years, including a third Batman film, a new film reintroducing Superman, and two movies focusing on other DC Comics characters."

Due to the success of the grim and gritty Dark Knight, Warner Bros. Pictures Group President Jeff Robinov added that the studio's upcoming DC movie slate is "going to try to go dark to the extent that the characters allow it."

Here's a look at how recent comic book films have fared for the studio:

Rebecca Hall Speaks on Vicky Cristina Barcelona

In Vicky Cristina Barcelona, Rebecca Hall seems to be the only person who doesn't kiss Scarlett Johansson.

"I got out of it, so I don't have to worry about answering that question," the British actress joked to USA Today, referring to Johansson's amorous and much-ballyhooed make out session with Penelope Cruz. "It's not what you'd expect from [director Woody Allen], I suppose. I can understand the controversy. But anyone going to see it for that reason will be disappointed."

The newspaper recently chatted with the burgeoning star:

Q: Vicky has to choose between the safety of an American husband and the passion of Bardem's painter. What would you have done?
A: She's not a predictable heroine. You'd expect her to realize that she has all this passion underneath and let loose and run off. But she lacks the courage to act on those instincts. That's human to make that choice. I'd like to think I wouldn't, but I think it's sad.

Q: How did you nail that American accent so well?
A: I didn't have a dialect coach. There wasn't enough money. I did it myself. My mum's American. She's from Detroit. It gives me confidence that I'm not being a complete fool. I'm used to the sounds.

Q: That must have helped you land the role.
A: I got a call from my agent that Woody wanted to meet me. I didn't know there was a film or a script. I went in, said hello and he asked if I could do an American accent. I said yes, blankly. He took me on trust. He said, "Nice to meet you and bye."

Shia LaBeouf is Shirtless, Bloody on Transformers 2 Set

The hand injury that Shia LaBeouf suffered in a car accident this summer will reportedly be written into the script of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

Based on the picture below, however, it appears as though this could be the least of the actor's worries.

LaBeouf was recently photographed on the set of the Transformers sequel, looking bruised and battered. Let's just hope the other guy looked even worse...

Movie Rumor of the Day: Cher as Catwoman

For the record, we don't believe this for a second.

But according to Great Britain's The Daily Telegraph, Cher - yes, Cher - has been cast as Catwoman in the follow-up to The Dark Knight.

The British newspaper goes on to say that Johnny Depp has signed on as The Riddler, while shooting on the film - which is provisionally titled The Caped Crusader - will begin in Vancouver early next year.

Cher Pic

"Cher is Nolan's first choice to play Catwoman. He wants to her to portray her like a vamp in her twilight years," a studio executive reportedly said. "The new Catwoman will be the absolute opposite of Michelle Pfeiffer and Halle Berry's purring creations."

That would be nice, at least. Still, can you even begin to imagine Cher in this role?!?

The bigger story, however, was the strong performance of The House Bunny. It came close to conquering all. Guess movie goers do respond to Playboy models and sorority girls. Who knew?!?

Major Quantum of Solace Spoiler!

The most recent news surrounding the next James Bond movie, Quantum of Solace, is that its release date has been moved back a week. It will now premiere on November 14.

But that's nothing compared to the information we've uncovered on the follow-up to Casino Royale!

Significant Quantum of Solace spoiler warning, but what follows is insight into what one site claims is the ending to the film...

AOL News has published an article that delves into new Bond villain, Dominic Greene (played by Mathieu Amalric).

"He was supposed to have a secret skill," Amalric said. "But we had this idea that maybe James Bond would be more surprised if the villain doesn’t know how to fight. Sometimes with anger you can be much more dangerous than with skill."

Dominic Greene

Mathieu Amalric is James Bond's nemesis in Quantum of Solace.

Reportedly, the finale of Quantum of Solace takes place in the Atacama Desert of Chile, as Daniel Craig’s Bond pursues Greene throughout his eco-hotel headquarters.

According to AOL, Greene meets his demise in the movie "after getting the bad end of his own ax in a fight, [he] limps alone in a stark desert [and] stumbles to the red, rocky ground.’"

Perhaps the man should have learned how to fight.
