Don Cheadle is a Traitor

Don Cheadle is such a good actor, he had us convinced he was British for awhile after Ocean's Eleven came out. Seriously.

Now, the Oscar nominee is starring in Traitor. He recently spoke to ComingSoon.net about the project:

ComingSoon.net: Was there anything in particular that pulled you into the script as an actor and as a producer?
Don Cheadle: Well, at the time there were things in the news, when this script came across my desk. There were a lot of ideas and stories about security and Guantanamo and The Patriot Act and what rights you would give up in order to be secure and terrorism and radical Islam. All these ideas were floating around when this script came across my desk.

Samir Horn

Don Cheadle stars in Traitor.

It was interesting to me because the character that I play in the movie, Samir Horn, seemed to be somebody who encapsulated all those questions within his own journey in this film. "What is my allegiance to my faith, what's my allegiance to my country? I feel like they're both letting me down in some ways. Who do I believe in? Who do I listen to? Ultimately, who takes responsibility for these things?"

In the film, he decides that he's going to take his own responsibility for things, but that was interesting to me as a producer because I thought, "Wow, here's a story that can potentially raise all those questions and may be fun to watch while you're sitting there, this thriller, and having your conscience pricked a little bit."

Will Christopher Nolan Return for The Dark Knight Sequel?

Forget questions over who would play the next Batman villain in the inevitable follow-up to The Dark Knight.

First, the studio needs to make sure that Christopher Nolan returns to the franchise.

In a long article published by The Hollywood Reporter - focusing on the film's marketing and the deaths of both Heath Ledger and Conway Wickliffe - the publication touches on the next Batman movie and the director's role in it.

A Slow Clap

There will undoubtedly be a follow-up to The Dark Knight, though there will never be a performance like that of Heath Ledger.

All involved say it will be up to Nolan to come to Warner Bros' with a story and a plan.

"There are a lot of us who emotionally would love to do it," said producer Chuck Roven. "But it's really Chris' call. Chris is the kind of filmmaker who just doesn't think about the next movie before he has completely finished the movie he is working on."

For now, Nolan is taking a well-earned vacation.

"When he comes back, we will see how he feels," added Roven.

Taylor Lautner Fuels Twilight Sequel Rumors

It's one of the most anticipated movies of the fall.

So much so, in fact, that talk of a Twilight sequel is heating up months before the vampire flick hits theaters.

At least it is for Taylor Lautner. The young actor, who plays Jacob Black in Twilight, is aware that his character is featured far more in the following two books of this Stephanie Meyer series.

That's why MTV News asked Lautner if he thinks about the possibilities of sequels in the franchise.

“As much as you try not to, you always do, because you’re like, ‘Oh my gosh, that would be so much fun and so cool,’” Taylor said. “But nothing’s confirmed yet, so I try not to get my hopes up too high.”

Taylor Lautner

Lautner's character fights as a wolf most of the time, but that doesn't mean this rising star isn't doing everything in his power to prepare himself for future entanglements. He's bulking up for his hopeful role in more Twilight movies.

“I’ve been lifting weights five days a week, eating tons of protein,” he said. “I’ve actually put on about eight pounds in just two-and-a-half months.”

More Arrested Development Movie Talk

Jessica Walter has now chimed in on the strong possibility of an Arrested Development movie.

The actress, who is starring on The CW's remake of 90210, recently told E! Online:

"I was told it's going to film next year. That's what I hear... and they better include me, or I'll put a bullet in my head!"

Naturally, the man hurdle will be scheduling, Walter said.

"That’s been the problem in the past, to try and get everybody together at the same time. But we are aiming for next year, and I hope it can all be worked out—I miss those people, I miss the writing."
