Terminator Salvation: Look to the Title

In the market for a few Terminator Salvation spoilers?

Director McG (pictured) told MTV News that the best advice he can give fans is to analyze the title.

“Even though we may sin ultimately we deserve a second chance,” McG said, referring to the inspiration behind the name of this franchise reinvention.

Just like Termintor 2: Judgment Day, which alluded to the choice a Terminator must ultimately make, Terminator Salvation relates to the actions of a specific character, McG said. He wouldn't specify if that was John Connor (played in the new franchise by Christian Bale).

“Sometimes life is worth living when you make sacrifices so others may benefit,” the director told MTV.

How forbodeing...

Tyrese Gibson Will Be B.A. Baracus

There may be no date set to begin shooting on the Jonh Singleton-directed A-Team movie - but when the former teleivision show is adapted to the big screen, you can expect Tyrese Gibson to be a part of it.

And the former model has made no secret about the role he'll take on.

“It’s B.A. Baracus,” Gibson confirmed to MTV News. “I haven’t officially signed on — everything is still on standby — but the conversations coming my way feel right. I’m gonna try to put my touch on [the character]. I mean, I got the muscles!”

Those muscles will be on full display in Tyrese's next movie, Death Race. It opens on August 22.

Michael Fassbender Joins Cast of Inglorious Basterds

Michael Fassbender - pictured below, best known for his role as Stelios in 300 - is in final negotiations to join the cast of Quentin Tarantino's Inglorious Bastards.

In other casting news, Simon Pegg had been close to signing on for the movie, but wrote on his website that "insurmountable scheduling difficulties" have gotten in the way.

Brad Pitt has agreed to play the lead in Inglorious Basterds. He'll portray a Tennessee hillbilly that assembles a team of eight Jewish-American soldiers to take on the Nazis. Mike Myers and Eli Roth are also on board.

The Hobbit: Close to Action

It's official:

The Lord of the Rings screenwriting team of Peter Jackson, Fran Walsh, and Philippa Boyens will join The Hobbit director Guillermo del Toro to write the screenplay for the pair of upcoming Hobbit movies.

The Hobbit

Sources told Entertainment Weekly the deals are all finished and they have already begun writing. The Hobbit will center on Frodo's uncle, Bilbo Baggins (who will NOT be played by James McAvoy, as earlier reports had stated), and his initial discovery of the immensely-powerful ring.

New Line and MGM plan to release the two films around Christmas 2011 and Christmas 2012.

A Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince Apology

Following complaints from Harry Potter fans for the delay in releasing Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Warner Bros. President and Chief Operating Officer Alan Horn has issued the following statement:

Many of you have written to me to express your disappointment in our moving "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" to Summer 2009.

Please be assured that we share your love for Harry Potter and would certainly never do anything to hurt any of the films. Over the past 10 years, we have nurtured and protected each film, and the integrity of the books upon which they are based, to the best of our ability.

The decision to move Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince was not taken lightly, and was never intended to upset our Harry Potter fans. We know you have built this series into what it is, and we thank you for your ongoing enthusiasm and support.

If I may offer a silver lining: there would have been a two-year gap between
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and the much-anticipated first part of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," which opens in November 2010.

So although we have to wait a little longer for
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, the wait from that film until "Deathly Hallows" will be less than 18 months.

Reel Movie Reviews: Hamlet 2

ReviewsUnless Tropic Thunder and Pineapple Express have exhausted movie goers of all their laughter, Hamlet 2 ought to be a modest hit.

The film stars Steve Coogan and, according to reports, Elizabeth Shue in a hilarious cameo. Here's how various film critics have reacted to the comedy...

- Hamlet 2 belongs firmly to Steve Coogan, which is fortunate since none of the film's supporting players prove to be the least bit memorable... -- Slant Magazine

- Hamlet 2 is never boring, and it certainly contains some of the heartiest laughs you'll have at the movies this summer, but it lacks a sense of engagement that would have made it so much better... -- MSNBC

Hamlet 2 Characters

- Hit-and-miss in terms of verbal wit and individual gags. But package moves along quickly, and overall concept remains amusing even when there’s a dud moment or three... -- Variety

- You might leave the theatre wondering whose minds were more twisted and demented, those who wrote this movie, or your own? -- ComingSoon.net

Watchmen Movie Faces Lawsuit, Uncertain Future

The wildly-anticipated big screen adaptation of Watchmen may never make it into theaters. The obstacle? A lawsuit brought against Warner Bros. by 20th Century Fox.

A judge has refused Warners' motion to dismiss Fox's lawsuit, which was filed in February. The latter studio claims it owns the rights to the 1986-87 comic book series, written by Alan Moore and illustrated by Dave Gibbons.

Watchmen Cast

Will movie fans have a chance to enjoy the Watchmen cast in action?

Watchmen is considered to be the most celebrated graphic novel of all time. But Variety reports it's a possibility that movie goers may never experience it.

After all, if Fox wins, it could be awarded part of the profits from the film. However, the publication reports that Fox doesn't want the money; it prefers to keep the big-budget film from being released at all.
