With the Mike Myers' career floundering more than Dr. Evil's plans to take over the world, it appears as though the actor is serious about developing a fourth installment of the Austin Powers franchise.
Back in May of 2007, Myers said it was "developing a fourth [movie], entirely from Dr. Evil's point of view."
We love Dr. Evil. But do we really need to see him in a fourth Austin Powers movie?
Now, Deadline Hollywood Daily is confirming that stance, providing a few more details about a possible Austin Powers 4. The site reports:
Mike Myers has started writing Austin Powers 4, which will be a homage to his father. An insider says, "it's very personal with a father and son theme loosely based on his own life."
As Myers has previously said, this fourth installment of the super spy spoof movie series will focus on Austin's arch-villain Dr. Evil, who was based on Blofeld of the Bond films. But what hasn't been known is that the Austin Powers 4's plot is really about Dr. Evil and his son.
With The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor opening on Friday, the action adventure series starring Brendan Fraser is about to become a trilogy!
We decided we'd celebrate this trilogy that has also created two spin-offs by updating all three movies on our site.
The Mummy (1999)
The original The Mummy introduced us to Rick O'Connell, an unlikely hero that was serving as a captain of the French Foreign Legion until he joins forces with Evelyn, the librarian, and her brother Jonathan. This movie set the formula where someone accidentally summons a mummy and our heroes must fight them off. Enjoy the photo montage for a trip down memory lane.
The Mummy Returns (2001)
Released 2 years after the first, but 9 years in the The Mummy universe, we join back up with our hero, Rick O'Connel for The Mummy Returns. Rick is now married to Evelyn and the two have an 8 year old child, Alex, together. In the sequel, again, Imhotep is summoned again, however, he's not the only threat as Imhotep raises an even dead. Relive the sequel that had even more special effects and introduced us to the acting skills of The Rock, err... Dwayne Johnson, with the following movie stills:
The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (2008)
Opening this weekend, we'll be introduced to the third movie in the trilogy, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. This third movie takes place ten years later and in the Far East this time. Rick, Evelyn, Jonathan, and their now grown-up son, Alex, are back to their mummy fighting ways. Just how will this movie fare? We'll bring you the reviews and updates as we have them! For now, enjoy these photos that have been released for the movie.
Take this rumor with a grain of salt the size of Samanth's libido, but sources say a Sex and the City movie sequel is in the works... but Carrie will not be the focus of it!
Rumors are flying that Kim Cattrall has pitched a plot for the follow-up that would put her character in the spotlight.
"[Sarah Jessica Parker] threatened to boycott the sequel if Warner Brothers agreed to Kim's plan. Sarah said she'd withdraw her producer credit and put pressure on Cynthia Nixon and Kirstin Davis to not participate," the source said.
Of course, if Parker is truly against this story line, she can nix it. The actress has the final say on any Sex and the City movie script.
Would you see a Sex and the City movie that prominently featured Samantha over Carrie?
Our apologiez to our male readers hoping to come across a different sort of Jenna Jameson photo.
The one below doesn't depict the adult film star naked and/or on all fours.
But it does show Jameson beaten and bloody, courtesy of a scene from next month's Zombie Strippers...
With The Dark Knight sweeping the box offices and setting new records every weekend, it's easy to overlook the new movies opening this Friday.
However, Walt Disney and Mr. Kevin Costner would appreciate that you at least give Swing Vote a look.
This unlikely political satire stars Kevin Coster as Bud Johnson, an average American joe, who's left to decide the next American President when the vote comes down to just one man. It's up to the current President and Repubilcan candidate, Andrew Boone (Kelsey Grammer) and the Democratic candidate, Donald Greenleaf (Dennis Hopper), to woo over Bud Johnson.
Sounds cheesy and unlikely, sure. But check out the Swing Vote trailer and view the following movie stills to see if this movie is for you.
We'll be sure and post movie reviews for you read before you spend your potential gas money on this movie.
There's been a lot of controversy surround who will be singing the new Bond theme song for Quantum of Solace. First we had rumors of an Amy Winehouse, then a return of Duran Duran, and then finally Alicia Keys.
Well, according to MTV News, there was quite a bit of fact to that last rumor. It's official now that Alicia Keys will be teaming up with White Stripes frontman Jack White to produce the upcoming Quantum of Solace theme song titled "Another Way to Die."
These two unbelievably talented individuals will mark the first duet to ever sing a bond theme song. Keys will be singing while White will write, produce, and plays the drums on the track.
Does this make us even more excited for Quantum of Solace to hit the bigscreens on November 7? If only that were possible...

With Star Wars: Clone Wars coming to theaters in just two weeks, the latest Star Wars entry is starting to get the hype it deserves.
Sure it may be a computer generated movie, but it's our first chance to watch the clone wars we hear referenced so much in our favorite movies. Enjoy the following clip exclusively available to MTV Movies.
The clip is entitled "Anakin Heads into Battle" and it's well, a clip of Anakin and a fellow Jedi friend heading into battle.

Christine Peters and Donald Petrie are no strangers to each other or the romantic comedy genre, as the two teamed up previously for How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.
Production will begin in late 2008.

The upcoming crime drama, Righteous Kill, starring Rebert De Niro, Al Pacino, and 50 Cent is due out in theaters on September 12 and Comingsoon.net just got access to two new exclusive pictures.
Here's some high resolution pictures of NYPD detectives David Disk and Thomas Cowan from the movie.
