During an HBO summer session with television and movie critics yesterday, executive admitted that there's “enormous interest” by Warner Bros and New Line studios to do another Sex and the City movie.
“They’re trying with our help to put that together now. When that happens, how long between, can’t say," said Michael Lombardo, HBO’s programming group and West Coast operations president. "But there’s absolutely interest. I think everybody associated with that project was really heartened by the enthusiasm from the fans, and by the new fans to the show.”
The blockbuster box office receipts probably didn't hurt, either.

There's gonna be an Ace Ventura 3. It comes out in September and it doesn't star Jim Carrey or anyone of note.
Here's the official, ridiuclous plot synopsis and poster:
“Allrighty-then. After his African adventure in “Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls,” Ace returned to Florida, married girlfriend Melissa (Ann Cusack) and became the doting father of a baby boy. Never one to sit still, Ace’s curious nature took him on another remote case. The goofball gumshoe was never to be seen or heard from again.
Single mom Melissa couldn’t fully put the past behind her. Now a zookeeper, she and Ace Jr. (Flitter) have made a life carrying on without her husband. Much to Melissa’s chagrin, however, 12-year-old Ace Jr. has begun to follow in his father’s comic footsteps. He has recently become a pet detective for the 7th grade set, often trying to recover classmates’ missing pets, and always with big mishaps.
But when a master animal thief abducts a baby panda and his mom is wrongly arrested of the crime, Ace Jr. must jump into action. Now, with the help of pals Laura and tech wizard A-Plus, young Ace must bring the thief to justice and do his inane and lovable dad’s memory justice.”

Theaters continue to add 3:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. showtimes to keep up with the ticketing demand.
"The Dark Knight may be responsible for a lot of bleary eyes at work next Friday morning," said Rick Butler, Chief Operating Officer for Fandango. "We're seeing a record number of late-night showtimes selling out in advance, while theaters are adding new performances every day."
An online survey of more than 3,000 The Dark Knight fans on Fandango.com last week resulted in the following information on the late-night popularity:
This is interesting: New York Magazine has evidently gotten its hands on the script - or at least an early version of it - for Quentin Taratino's next movie, Inglorious Bastards.
According to the magazine, the script is 165 pages long and follows a squad of American soldiers referred to as the "Bastards," a guerrillalike force who travel behind German lines in 1944, striking terror into the hearts of Nazi soldiers.
The Bastards are headed by Lieutenant Aldo Raine, which is the role we'd imagine Tarantino is hoping to land Brad Pitt for, as rumors have suggested. We'll keep you updated about Inglorious Basterds as more information is released about it.

According to Deadline Hollywood Daily, director Jon Favreau has officially reached a deal with Marvel Studios to direct Iron Man 2.
It's been assumed all along, but Favreau technically hadn't signed on for the film - which is targeted for an April 30, 2010 release - until now.
Robert Downey Jr. had a sequel clause in his contract, so he's been on board from the beginning. Terrence Howard and Gwyneth Paltrow are likely to return for the Iron Man 2, as well.
