No shocker here: despite mild reviews, Will Smith's Hancock earned over $107 million in its first five days in theaters.
The super hero flick has been attacked by critics for veering away from its fun-loving, original concept in the movie's second half. Nevertheless, viewers made Hancock the third-biggest Fourth of July opener of all-time after Transformers and Spider-Man 2.
Here's a look at the weekend's top five:
- Hancock, $66 million
- WALL-E, $33.4 million
- Wanted, $20.6 million
- Get Smart, $11.1 million
- Kung Fu Panda, $7.5 million
