Of all the ways we can describe the character of Wolverine, beach bum would not exactly be anywhere on our list.
But in the following shot from the set of X-Men Origins: Wolverine, it's clear that Hugh Jackman is decked out in World War II garb, ready to do battle in a scene seemingly out of Saving Private Ryan.
This sequel/prequel to the X-Men franchise tells the story of Wolverine's violent and romantic past, including his relationship with Victor Creed and the unique Weapon X program.
The photo above (click to enlarge) certainly makes us curious as to how being an actual soldier fits into the story of Wolverine.

Wolverine has been portrayed in the myriad comic books as having been a soldier in WWI and WWII. Can't remember the book or #, but he was in the trenches when most of his commrades got killed and he walked away, stunned. WWI might have been the first time he actually discovered there was something a little strange about body....
