The Quantum of Solace Movie Trailer

While the following may not be the official movie trailer for Quantum of Solace, it does offer two items of note:

  1. Brief behind-the-scenes looks at the filming;
  2. The James Bond theme song that we dare you not to get excited about upon hearing.

Watch the preview now:

Mark Wahlberg Hypes Max Payne

Mark Wahlberg doesn't count war (Three Kings), a skyscraper-sized wave (The Perfect Storm) or the Apocalypse (The Happening and Planet of the Apes) as his most daunting obstacle to date?

Instead, the actor points to a video game character.

"Two weeks out I was just dying," Wahlberg said to MTV of his title role in the upcoming video game adaptation, Max Payne. "I wanted my life back."

Mark Wahlberg as Max Payne? Safe to say we're excited about that.

More than anything, Wahlberg is excited about how complex the character is.

"Max Payne is not a one-trick pony. It's probably one of the edgier roles I've played but also the most layered," he said. "Here's a very happy guy who worked a dismal job, had a beautiful family. But the beauty in his life was taken away. He just goes on a rampage. It's all driven by emotion."

Terence Stamp Speaks on Wanted Sequel

Terence Stamp isn't the best known actor in the world - but he's on a roll!

Stamp plays a villain in the upcoming Get Smart, while he also appears alongside a certain beautiful actress in Wanted. We'll let him explain the rest.

"I've got Yes Man coming up with the great Jim Carrey. Tom Cruise and I were blowing up Hitler for a long time in Berlin for Valkyrie," said Stamp, 69, to MTV. "And, I got to say good morning to Angelina Jolie at 7 a.m. every morning on Wanted."

Wanted Movie Poster

According to a co-star, we'll be seeing a Wanted sequel in the future.

As that bullet-ridden action flick gets ready for a June 27 release, it was Stamp's follow-up quote that truly piqued our interested.

"I play a character who's called Pekwarsky," Stamp said. "He's an enigmatic character who doesn't feature a lot in the first one, but it's something that's written for a sequel."

Indeed, it sounds as though a Wanted sequel is already planned. We'll have to see the original in a couple weeks before we determine if this is a good idea or not.

Bruno Premiere Date Set

Bruno - Sacha Baron Cohen's followup to Borat - will hit theaters on May 15, 2009.

Although details have been kept secret, the new ficomedylm is expected to be similar to Borat; i.e. based on a character that the performer introduced to American audiences with his acclaimed HBO comedy series Da Ali G Show.

Forget Borat. Bruno is coming in May, 2009!

We assume the film will focus on Baron Cohen conducting interviews with people who are supposedly unaware that he's an actor in disguise, this time as a flamboyant Austrian fashion reporter. See?

It's hilarious already.

Reel Movie Reviews: Kit Kittredge: An American Girl

Kit Kittredge: An American Girl opens on July 2 and has the honor of being the only film we can think of to ever be based on a line of dolls.

So it has that going for it.

But does it have solid movie reviews going for it? Let's ask a few critics...

- At a time when kidflicks have turned raucous and crude, its inoffensive sweetness makes it a positively endearing throwback... -- One Guy's Opinion

- Younger girls will probably love Kit's antics and their parents won't find it too painful an experience, but it's still only a serviceable and fairly mediocre family film at best... -- ComingSoon.net

Kit Kittredge Photo

- For a G-rated film, Kit Kittredge's profound insight into the breakdown of society and families during the Depression and the country's subsequent rebirth is surprising... -- Slant Magazine

- Abigail Breslin, in the lead role, is a huge key to keeping Kit Kittredge light on its feet. Nine-year-old Kit is watching her city of Cincinnati change as the Great Depression starts taking away jobs and forcing her neighbors to sell their houses and move... -- Cinema Blend

Steve Carell, Anne Hathaway Speak on Get Smart

With Get Smart opening this weekend, stars Steve Carell and Anne Hathaway sat down with MovieWeb to discuss the comedy. Here are excerpts from the interview:

Did you guys watch the original TV show before diving head first into this endeavor?
Steve Carell: I steered clear of it. I didn't want to do an impression of Don Adams. I figured there was no way to improve upon what he had done. I thought the more I watched him, the more I would be inclined to do an impersonation. He was so good and so definitive in that role. I sort of backed away from it.

Anne Hathaway: I actually grew up watching the show on "Nick at Nite". I used to love it, so it was really fun to revisit that. I was one of the last people cast, so I missed the whole collaboration of it. The: "This is the movie we're making" part of it. I wanted to make sure that I understood what tone we were trying to achieve. I think we've managed to have that silly, sweet, yet sophisticated feel that the original series had.

Get Smart opens on June 20.

Sienna Miller: Excited for Nottingham

Sienna Miller will play Maid Marian - alongside Russell Crowe's Sheriff of Nottingham - in an upcoming, movie about Robin Hood that flips the tale's typical script; Ridley Scott will direct.

"I just found out," Miller told the BBC. "It's the most exciting news in the world."

In Nottingham, the usually villainous sheriff will be portrayed as heroic, while Robin Hood â€" traditionally known for nobly stealing from the rich to give to the poor, of course â€" is the antagonist.

As for her role â€" in the past, Robin always had a thing for Marian â€" Miller said she "could not have a better part," while teaming with Crowe and Scott is "as good as it gets."

Miller is currently shooting the G.I. Joe movie.

The Bangkok Dangerous Movie Trailer

In case Wanted doesn't feel your need for hit men this summer, there's always Bangkok Dangerous.

The film stars Nicolas Cage as an assassin and is a remake of a 1999 Thai movie by the same name. Here's the trailer:

Bangkok Dangerous comes out on August 22.

Ray: I don't hit women. I would never hit a woman, Chloe. I'd hit a woman who was trying to hit me with a bottle. That's different. That's self-defense, isn't it? Or a woman who could do karate. I would never hit a woman generally, Chloe. -- In Bruges

Maya Hayes: Dad, I can't believe you drank... and smoked... and was such a slut... But I still love you. -- Definitely, Maybe

Sloan: It a choice, Wesley, that each of us must face: to remain ordinary, pathetic, beat-down, coasting through a miserable existence, like sheep herded by fate, or you can take control of your own destiny and join us, releasing the caged wolf you have inside. Our purpose is to maintain stability in an unstable world - kill one, save a thousand. Within the fabric of this world, every life hangs by a thread. We are that thread - a fraternity of assassins, weapons of fate. This is the decision that lies before you know: the sheep, or the wolf. The choice is yours. -- Wanted
