School of Rock Sequel Script: Written!

During a panel discussion on Sunday, filmmaker Mike White confirmed a script for School of Rock 2.

As reported by Defamer, the scribe was discussing the vagaries of screenwriting with fellow directors when he let slip:

"I actually just completed a draft of what's potentially the sequel [to School of Rock], and I'm still, like, crying as I'm writing the script... I try to come at it from a personal placeâ€""

Wait, he was interrupted, there's a sequel planned for School of Rock?

White nodded, but wouldn't reveal anything about the follow-up.

"I literally just turned it in," the writer said. "It's a little too fresh off the boat for me to get into right now. And I don't even know if it's gonna be made."

First Photo from Fast and Furious

The fourth installment of The Fast and the Furious franchise is currently filming.

Original stars Vin Diesel and Paul Walker will reprise their roles in this follow-up, which has the very simple title Fast and Furious.

Paul Dergarabedian of Media by Numbers told USA Today that the movie is a sign of the strength of "quiet giants," franchises that "might not be James Bond or Indiana Jones but still have a rabid following, especially overseas or on DVD."

Diesel and Walker rejoin Michelle Rodriguez and Jordana Brewster in the summer 2009 action film, as the aforementioned newspaper has a first look at one of the stars in action:

Mark Millar Points to Wanted Sequel

More talk of a Wanted sequel is underway, days before the original premieres on theaters across the country.

Mark Millar - the comic book writer responsible for the Wanted series, on which the upcoming Angelina Jolie movie is based - said on his message boards that a follow-up is already in the planning stages:

Wanted 2 already being planned and they've asked me how I can develop some of the other stuff from the book into the sequel. We'll see what box office is like at the weekend, but everyone knows this is going to make a LOT of dough.

Based on early reviews, there's no denying that. We can't wait to see Wanted.

Reel Movie Reviews: Wanted

Movie critics cannot always be trusted, of course.

But when so many of them give such glowing reviews to a movie - and when that movie features a scantily clad Angelina Jolie is the role of an assassin - it's bound to catch your attention.

With that in mind, we present the following views on Wanted...

- Wanted has the kind of irresistible summer-movie allure that makes studio executives drool in anticipation. Even its title must swim before their eyes and transform into 'Want-to-See'... -- New York Magazine

- This over-the-top, ultraviolent, hyperkinetic action thriller pretty much has it all... -- Hollywood Reporter

Wesley Gibson Picture

- Like it or not, Wanted pretty much slams you to the back of your chair from the outset and scarcely lets up for the duration... -- Variety

- Possesses a 'wow' factor that will make it one of the summer's biggest hits...an unabashed testosterone-adrenaline cocktail spiced up with a dollop of torture-porn bloodlust... -- One Guy's Opinion

A Hancock Photo Montage

With the release date of Hancock creeping ever closer (July 2!), we figured it was time to release a photo tribute to that super hero.

After all, we've seen him in action and don't wanna get on Hancock's bad side.

Shia LaBeouf: On the Run in Eagle Eye

For the second time, we've gotten our hands in a photo from Eagle Eye.

Amidst all the talk of Shia LaBeouf starring in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystall Skull, while also filming Transformers 2, it's easy to forget that he has an interesting thrilled coming out in September. It co-stars Michelle Monaghan.

Dwayne Johnson: The Tooth Fairy Has It All

From WWE champion to Tooth Fairy.

No one can say Dwayne Johnson has taken a typical career path.

But the former wrestler has officially distanced himself from the moniker "The Rock" and has, to the surprise of many, established himself as a family-film oriented star.

Never will this be more evident than when Johnson stars as the Tooth Fairy in a movie set for a 2009 release. He was recently asked by MTV what fans should expect from it.

"Everything you can possibly imagine," the actor said of what we can expect from a comedy that casts the former WWE World Champion as an ordinary man who gets recruited to save the kingdom of dental-dependent flying fairies everywhere. "And then some!"

"If you could imagine what would be the most funniest thing you can think of, then that is was this is," the Get Smart said confidently of the upcoming movie. "We have [me being depicted] from tiny, to large, to a really messed-up wing that makes me fly into the walls.

"We've got it all."
