Gilles Marini: Naked Sex and the City Star Speaks Out

Gilles Marin may not be a familiar name.

But the French actor has a familiar body to fans of Sex and the City: The Movie. He played Samantha's sexy, often-naked neighbor in the film.

And, according to USA Today, Kim Cattrall would turn up on the Sex and the City movie set to watch Marini's numerous nude scenes.

"She made the trips from her trailer â€" even just for her over-the-shoulder shots," said Marini, speaking with his strong French accent. "She was there all the time to give me as much support as possible for me to act well."

Gilles Marini lathers up in a scene from the Sex and the City movie.

Marini plays Dante, a Casanova who lives in the beach house next door to Cattrall's character. He seduces a new woman (or women) every day, much to Samantha's voyeuristic pleasure.

"He's a woman lover," explained Marini, who in real life has been married to his French wife, Carole, since 1998. They have two children, George, 9, and Juliana, who turns 2 in July.

Before landing his Sexand the City role, Marini, the son of a Greek mother and Italian father, worked in Milan as a runway model for Armani Jeans and appeared in bit parts as either "French Guy" or "Italian Guy" in several daytime and prime-time soaps.

Perhaps now he'll have a new career... as "Naked Guy."

Matthew Marsden Joins Cast of Transformers 2

Matthew Marsden has joined the cast of Michael Bay's Transformers 2.

It must not have been difficult to convince the actor, as he'll join a list of stars that includes Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox, Josh Duhamel and Tyrese in the blockbuster's follow-up.

Look for Matthew Marsden in Transformers 2.

Marsden has been cast in the role of "Graham. He's rumored to be part of the British Special Forces. All we currently know about the plot is that it will depict an even more worldly battle than the first Transformers film, while being shot all over the world.

In the sequel, Graham teams with Duhamel and Tyrese's military characters, joining their efforts as they do battle with the evil Decepticons.

Oliver Stone: George W. is a Great Character

Never one to shy away from controversy, Oliver Stone's next movie is generating a wealth of it. So, what motivated the director to direct a movie about George W. Bush?

"He is one of the great characters of this time and I think he has had enormous impact on the world and our generation as well as future generations," Stone said of Bush in an interview with Screen Daily. "He achieved what his father did not by getting re-elected. ... What he does with that is the question."

According to Stone, W - which stars Josh Brolin as Bush - would be more like the blackly comic Dr. Strangelove than it would his somber biopic of Nixon. The director did say that the president's religion would be tackled in a serious manner, however.

"We must on the surface take his conversion seriously. It is the centrepiece of his change. At the age of 40, he was a drinker and he changed quite radically over a period of four years, so something happened to him," Stone said.

"Whether he became the same person on the other side of the coin is an interesting issue and I examine that too. Some of the characteristics, however, never disappeared such as the temperament, the anger and the impatience."

W is scheduled to open October 17.

Ed Helms Signs on to Pair of Comedies

From The Office to the big screen.

Variety reports that Ed Helms has landed a role in the indie comedi Manure, alongside Billy Bob Thornton, as well as a supporting role in Night at the Museum 2: Escape From the Smithsonian.

Ed Helms

In Manure (we never thought we'd write that), Helms will portray a womanizing manure peddler. The story focuses on a trio of manure salesmen in 1960s America.

For Night at the Museum 2, look for Helms as a co-worker of the main character, played by Ben Stiller.

Deepak Chopra Addresses Critics of The Love Guru

Deepak Chopra has a response to Hindus that oppose Mike Myers' depiction of self-help guru Pitka in The Love Guru: Simmer down.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the best-selling author and spiritual teacher is defending the comedy - in which Myers plays an aspiring self-help guru that aims to achieve Chopra's level of popularity. Chopra posted an essay online in response to those in the Hindu community who claim The Love Guru is offensive, mocking tenets of their faith.

Pitka

Deepak Chopra approves of Pitka.

"The premature outcry against the movie is itself religious propaganda," Chopra wrote, noting that the protesters based their views on the film's brief trailer. "As viewers will find out when the movie is released this summer, no one is more thoroughly skewered in it than I am - you could even say that I am made to seem preposterous."

Chopra obviously doesn't mind, though; he even makes a cameo appearance in the film.

The author said he and Myers have been friends for 15 years. Myers wrote the foreword to Chopra's latest book, "Why is God Laughing?" It explores the relationship between comedy and spirituality.

During a period of depression, Myers has said he discovered Chopra's books and videos and began imitating his accent. Myers tried out his new character in New York comedy clubs and - presto! - The Love Guru was born.
