Let's forget, for a moment, whether or not you like the sound of the title: Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen.
Instead, let's focus on the meaning behind the name of the Transformers sequel.
According to CHUD, "the Fallen" refers to one of the original 13 Transformers created by Primus.
The Transformers wiki provides background to this theory:
At the dawn of time, Primus created new life, the 13 original Transformers, to crew his planetary form into battle against his eternal nemesis Unicron. One of these 13, his original name now lost to the mists of time, turned against his siblings, his creator, and his universe, and betrayed them all.
...this guardian of entropy became obsessed with the darker side of chaos and death, and in the black place these urges led him, the betrayer found a new god, more suited to his nature. He turned against Primus and became the Fallen.
As predicted by the staff of Reel Movie News, Kung Fu Panda took in the most money at the box office this weekend.
Take that sex! And the city!
Here's a clip from the number-one movie in the land:
Assuming readers haven't had their fill of Jacques Clouseau, here's a look at the trailer for The Pink Panther 2. The movie comes out on February 6, 2009:
Arguably the best actor alive turns 45 today. We'd like to wish Johnny Depp a very happy birthday!
Depp has been nominated for three Academy Awards, though he's yet to take home a trophy. There's little doubt, however, that this will happen at some point for the man that mad Captain Jack Sparrow into an icon.
Here's a look at other films the star has amazed us in:
Movie-goers appear to prefer the sound of Angelina Jolie's voice to the appearance of Sarah Jessica Parker's crazy hats.
The animated adventure Kung Fu Panda, which featured Jolie and Jack Black in the main voiceover roles, shot to number-one at the box office this weekend. Sex and the City: The Movie sank to number-four.
The top 5 were:
1. Kung Fu Panda: $60 million
2. You Don't Mess With the Zohan: $40 million
3. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull: $22.8 million
4. Sex and the City: $21.3 million
5. The Strangers: $9.3 million
A couple of rough guys you don't wanna meet in a back alley enter movie theaters this weekend. One is a Mossad agent; the other is a Panda.
Here's a closer look at each new film...
You Don't Mess with the Zohan
Stars: Adam Sandler
Quick synopsis: The Zohan doesn't wanna be in the army; he wants to be a hair dresser.
Prediction: Disappointing, at least compared to past Sandler hits such as Billy Madison. Viewers are getting sick of his act.
Kung Fu Panda
Stars: Voices of Jack Black, Dustin Hoffman, Angelina Jolie
Quick synopsis: A panda must learn kung fu in order to save his people.
Prediction: This may be a stretch, but you heard it here first: Po the Panda scraps his way to the top of the box office. Indianan Jones and Carrie Bradshaw who?
Earlier today, we revealed one significant Transformers 2 spoiler: the movie's title.

According to Variety, Keira Knightley is in talks to star in a remake off My Fair Lady.
The actress would star as Eliza Doolittle, the simple Cockney flower girl who is able to transform into a proper lady under the tutelage of Professor Henry Higgins.
We loved Keira Knightley in Love Actually.
My Fair Lady was first staged in 1956 featuring Julie Andrews and Rex Harrison, while Audrey Hepburn starred in 1964's Oscar-winning film. What do you think?
Can you picture Knightley in this iconic role?
