Shia LaBeouf turns 22 today.

The young actor has already earned comparisons to Tom Hanks, though he has a long way to go to achieve such lofty status in our eyes.

Still, Shia's early film resume is solid:

In honor of the actor, and for his many female fans out there, here's a photo montage of the actor. Click on the following thumbnails now for larger versions...

M. Night Shyamalan Speaks on The Last Airbender

M. Night Shyamalan told SCI FI Wire that he's excited to be directing The Last Airbender, a live-action fantasy-adventure movie based on Nickelodeon's animated SF/action/martial-arts series Avatar: The Last Airbender.

"It has martial arts and spirituality and the supernatural, and it has Buddhist philosophy and Hindu philosophy - really, everything I talk about - all in one movie," Shyamalan said.

The Sixth Sense director added:

"It has a mythology. It's Shakespearean. It's all this incredible stuff, and it has a balance. All these movies are plays on magic, whether it's Lord of the Rings or The Matrix or Star Wars even, and each one of them relates to me in a different way, in its belief system."

Up next, of course, Shyamalan is responsible for The Happening. It opens this weekend.

Reel Movie Reviews: The Incredible Hulk

When we first heard that The Incredible Hulk would be the focus of yet another movie (following the Ang Lee-directed disaster that was The Hulk), we wondered why anyone would go see it.

However, reviews of the Edward Norton vehicle have actually been positive so far. Here's a sampling...

- The Incredible Hulk accomplishes exactly what it sets out to do. It simply isn't out to accomplish much... -- Cinema Blend

- Though certainly not the dud many were expecting, the new 'Hulk' is not good enough to justify the need for a restart... -- Dark Horizons

The Incredible Hulk

- Much more action-packed and entertaining than the previous Hulk movie... -- Sci Fi Movie Page

- Sharply uneven and structurally messy, new version is only slightly better but decidedly different than Lee's take, a popcorn flick favoring big, loud action and thrilling f/x over plot and characters; makes you curious about Norton's longer, detailed cut... -- Emanuel Levy

Leonardo DiCaprio Loves Atari

Leonardo DiCaprio has signed on to star in Atari, a biopic on Nolan Bushnell, the man that actually invented the home video game console.

As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, after building Atari to an international juggernaut, Bushnell was forced out, only to have a second act as the founder of the Chuck E. Cheese's Pizza chain. Random, we know.

Aside from Atari, DiCaprio recently wrapped the Ridley Scott CIA thriller House of Lies, due out in October. He's also set to film Shutter Island.
