Alexis Bledel Wonders About Sin City 2

Alexis Bledel hasn’t heard anything about Sin City 2. And the young actress hopes that doesn’t mean she’ll be left out of any potential sequenl

In regard to her character’s status from the original film, Bledel told MTV:

“It’s questionable, because in the last scene [you saw me], technically I’m supposed to die. There’s an assassin in the elevator with me and you assume I’m dead… But they’ve said that maybe I’m not dead. So, I don’t know what happens in that elevator… Maybe I killed the assassin. That’d be awesome!”

Reel Movie Reviews: 88 Minutes

reel-reviews-logo47.jpg We never thought we’d say this about an Al Pacino movie, but of all the films opening this weekend, 88 Minutes looks the most boring.

The supposed thriller looks like a cliched cat-and-mouse cop flick, with Pacino in the role of the hunted police officer, haunted by his past. Do critics around the nation agree with us? Let’s find out…

- 88 Minutes plays like a script Tom Cruise rejected back in the ’90s, forcing Pacino to run — across campus, across town, through parking garages, up and down stairs.New York Press

- 88 Minutes will add a little more luster to a career that has not been adequately appreciated perhaps because of the suspiciously seductive power of a little man with an outsize talent.New York Observer

- How Al Pacino found himself roped into this wacky movie is another mystery entirely and one that doesn’t take much research past the words “yacht payment” to solve.Brian Orndorf

- If one is the loneliest number, two is company, three is a crowd and four is an orgy, then eighty-eight must be the universal symbol for unwatchability.Arizona Daily Star

Sex and the City Movie Spoiler: A Character Dies?!?

Miranda HobbesTake this Sex and the City movie spoiler with a grain of salt the size of Perez Hilton’s ego.

But that celebrity gossip blogger has quoted Cynthia Nixon as saying a character will die in the upcoming big screen adaptation of the HBO series.

Tuesday night, at the Creation Nation comedy show at the Zipper Theater, Nixon reportedly told host Billy Eichner, “a character dies in the movie,” but refused to give any details.

We think this means one of two things:

  1. The story is not true;
  2. A minor character perishes. No way one of the big four, or any of their significant others, kicks the proverbial bucket.

We’ll all know for sure on May 30 when Sex and the City: The Movie comes out in theaters.

Happy Birthday, Jennifer Garner!

A happy 36th birthday is in order for lovely actress Jennifer Garner.

The beautiful wife of Ben Affleck has enjoyed a solid, versatile career. She made a name for herself as the best-looking spy in television history on Alias, and has followed up that TV stint with a number of film roles. They’ve ranged from romantic comedies to comic book adaptations.

A quick look at Garner’s movie resume:

Harrison Ford Dishes on Life, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

Most of the story lines of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull are still secret - but Harrison Ford recently told USA Today the movie will try to give new perspectives on his globe-trotting, fist-fighting archaeologist.

“He’s a guy who is pretty clear from the beginning,” Ford said. “He has not changed so much between films. But we’ve learned more about him, through various plot devices, such as the introduction of his father. And we’ll learn something more about him in this film. I think it’s required. If you’re going to bring back a character, you’ll have to supply the audience with something more and different. ”

Jackpot!

Ford added that “the adventure is very, very important. But it’s interesting to discover a facet of the character that perhaps you hadn’t explored before.”

Such as his age. Yes, even Indiana Jones must grow old, as the character’s development in life will reflect that of the man portraying him in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

“I think it’s an interesting element to take advantage of,” Ford said. “Clearly, it’s another challenge that he faces.”

Somehow, we think he’ll overcome it.

Morgan Spurlock Continues to Hunt Down Osama Bin Laden

As presidential candidates debate the issues, film maker Morgan Spurlock reminds them - and us - of an important question:

Where in the world is Osama Bin Laden?

So asks Spurlock’s new documentary, which opens tomorrow. As outlined in The Los Angeles Times, Spurlock traveled to Pakistan, Afghanistan and several other nations of the Muslim world in order to answer this pressing inquiry.

Since the making of his previous hit, Super Size Me, Spurlock has married Alex, his vegan girlfriend in that film; the couple has a 16-month-old son, Laken, which the director says helped propel Where in the World Is Osama Bin Laden?. He asked himself, “what kind of world am I bringing a kid into?”

“I knew where we would start, but I didn’t know where we’d end,” Spurlock said. “What we knew was that I’d come home and hopefully everything would be fine. And we’d have a baby.”
