Miley Cyrus Dishes on Next Hannah Montana Movie

As if we needed further evidence that Miley Cyrus owned the universe, the teen queen's movie debut - her "Best of Both World" concert film - dominated the box office earlier this year.

Now, the young singer/actress has opened up to MTV about the next Hannah Montana movie.

"[She's] going to Nashville," Cyrus said of the still-untitled flick which begins filming April 12.

Miley, who is the daughter of country crooner Billy Ray Cyrus, is originally from Nashville. She moved to Los Angeles years ago to pursue stardom as the character of Hannah. We'd say it's worked.

As for the upcoming movie, Cyrus said her actual self will shine through a lot.

"It's showing more of the Miley side of life," Cyrus said of the highly anticipated film, which will be released in 2009. "More of the normal girl kind of figuring herself out type thing. It's going to be really cool, really funny."

And really money-making.

Jaime Pressly Loves You, Man

Jaime Pressly has landed a lead role in I Love You, Man, the DreamWorks comedy starring Paul Rudd and Jason Segel.

Written and being directed by John Hamburg (Along Came Polly), the movie centers on a man (Rudd) about to be married, whose fiancee (Rashida Jones) is calling all her friends to be in the wedding.

Realizing he has no friends, this guy starts to go on man-dates to find a best man; he finds one in Segel (who can next be seen in Forgetting Sarah Marshall).

Pressly will play the best friend of the fiancee.

Reel Movie Reviews: Superhero Movie

reel-reviews-logo44.jpgWhat did the critics think of the latest parody movie, Superhero Movie, brought to us by the Scary Movie people?

Well it doesn't look like things went to tell of this parody of Spider-Man, X-Men, Fantastic Four, Batman Begins, and the rest of the comic book movies from the last few years.

Check out what a handful of critics said.

It's a bit late in the game for Superhero Movie, which was never going to fly, and barely crawls. -- Washington Post

It looks for all the world as if writer/director Craig Mazin took the screenplay for Spider-Man, propped it up next to his MacBook, and just went through it, inserting fart gags, pratfalls and the lamest of jokes. -- Toronto Star

Hourglass

To call Superhero Movie a satire, or even a parody, of the genre specified in its title would be misleading, since those terms imply at least an attempt at wit. But no real mockery is intended by this mindless grab bag of slightly used gags. -- New York Times

70 minutes of good if unmemorable fun sure beats 80 or 90 minutes of excruciating parodies for dummies, a la Date Movie and Epic Movie. -- Variety

Slate of Comedy Stars Sign Up for The Informant

41659wdmvrl_aa240_.jpg A slew of comic stars have signed up to appear in Steven Soderbergh's dark comic thriller The Informant.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, The Soup host Joel McHale (who we adore), Scott Bakula and others are set to star opposite Matt Damon in the film.

Bakula and McHale, who is in final negotiations, will play FBI agents working with agri-business insider Mark Whitacre (Damon) to stop a price-fixing scam. The film is based on Kurt Eichenwald's 2000 best-seller "The Informant: A True Story."

Other new cast members known for their comedic turns are Mike O'Malley (Yes, Dear), Andrew Daly (Semi-Pro) and Melanie Lynskey (Two and a Half Men).

The Informant is due out in 2009.

A Clip of Forgetting Sarah Marshall

Sure to be this year's Knocked Up or Superbad, Forgetting Sarah Marshall comes out on April 18.

Here's a clip from it now:
