Michael Chiklis Has an Eagle Eye

Michael Chiklis, best known for his work on The Shield and in The Fantastic Four movies, is costarring alongside Shia LaBeouf, in Eagle Eye.

The movie comes out this September. Below, Chiklis speaks to MTV about the project:

MTV: Who do you play in the film?
Michael Chiklis: I play the Secretary of Defense, this guy named Jeffrey Callister– very lofty, [laughs], pretty cool. Obviously, the Donald Rumsfeld of the film, but not modeled on him or by him in any way. He’s a very thoughtful man and under some considerable strain throughout the course of the movie - trying his best to manage a ton of different threats and potential threats and figure out what’s going on and how Shia’s character relates to all of it.

Michelle Trachtenberg Jokes About Seventeen Again

Michelle Trachtenberg Photo We don’t ask for much at Reel Movie News. Typically, our day is made by informing people of the latest movie quotes, rumors and photos.

But can the people behind Zac Efron’s next movie please make up their minds about its title? So far, it’s been known as Seventeen, 17, 17 Again and, now, Seventeen Again. Just stick with a name please.

Now that that’s out of our system, we can report that, Michelle Trachtenberg is having fun on the set of the movie.

Saying she refers to Zac as “Dad” on set - because Efron is, oddly enough, portraying her father - Trachtenberg added:

“Anything we did, father/daughter-wise. I’d tease him, ‘I’m older than you! You’re not really my father,’ while he’s trying to tell me what to do.”

21 is Magic Number at the Box Office

21 counted as more than just blackjack this weekend. The drama, starring Kevin Spacey and Kate Bosworth topped the weekend box office with $23 million.

For Spacey and Bosworth, who have costarred in three movies together in less than four years, 21 is their second-biggest debut after Superman Returns.

In other movie news:

Stop-Loss (eighth place, $4.5 million) joins In the Valley of Elah, Redacted, Rendition, Home of the Brave and others in pile of war movie rejected by audiences.

Superhero Movie (third place, $9.5 million) suffered through the weakest opening of all the awful Epic/Scary/Date spoof comedies of recent years.

Dr. Seuss’ Horton Hears a Who! (second place, $17.4 million; $117.3 million overall) gave Hollywood its first $100 million hit of the year.

• After a solid debut, Tyler Perry’s Meet the Browns (fourth place, $7.8 million; $32.8 million overall) pulled a Cloverfield and saw ticket sales plunge 61 percent.

Vantage Point ($2.4 million, $69.4 million) ends its Top 10 run after a solid five-week stay.

Steve Martin and Diane Keaton to Star in One Big Happy

Steve Martin and Diane Keaton are attached to star in the upcoming comedy One Big Happy, Variety reports.

The premise of the film is being kept under wraps, but sources describe One Big Happy as a family comedy about a couple and a family reconnecting amid various obstacles. The material is a strong match for Martin and Keaton, who played a married couple in Father of the Bride and its sequel.

Keaton was last seen in the comedies Mama’s Boy and Mad Money. Martin next stars in Pink Panther 2.

Batman Forever on Reel

After the studio told Tim Burton they wanted the third installment of the Batman movies to be more family friendly less dark than his first two, he left the director’s chair and took over as producer.  Michael Keaton no longer wanted to be Batman due to creative differences.

Instead, we got Joel Schumacher as the director and Val Kilmer as Batman.  This may have marked when the series was starting to go downhill, but Batman Forever was still an enjoyable flick with great performances by Tommy Lee Jones and Jim Carrey.

Check out the following pictures from this more family friendly Batman.
