Cloverfield Sequel in the Works?

As Cloverfield shatters January box office records, the question of a sequel to this monster movie is already being asked?

What does Director Matt Reeves have to say about a Cloverfield 2? The following:

“Only time will tell. While we were on set making the film we talked about the possibilities and directions of how a sequel can go. The fun of this movie was that it might not have been the only movie being made that night, there might be another movie!

More from Cloverfield

In today’s day and age of people filming their lives on their iphones and handy cams, uploading it to youtube…That was kind of exciting thinking about that.”

Lindsay Lohan, Eddie Murphy Lead Razzie Nominations

28th.jpg It may have been a great year for Lindsay Lohan when it comes to sleeping with guys. But it was an awful year at the box office for this spoiled star.

The promiscuous actress’ revolting film I Know Who Killed Me racked up an incredible nine nominations for The Razzies, Hollywood’s anti-Oscars, which are handed out annually to the worst in cinema.

I Know Who Killed Me is the most fabulously brainless movie since Showgirls,” which Razzie voters picked as the worst movie of the 1990s, Razzies founder John Wilson said. “By the end of it, you still don’t know what happened. Are they twins or aren’t they? Did she imagine it? Can I please have my hour and 50 minutes back?”

Here is a recap of the nominations. The ceremony will be held on February 23:

Josh Brolin to Star in Oliver Stone’s President Bush Biopic

This ought to be the easiest role of Josh Brolin’s career.

All the No Country for Old Men star has to do is smile condescendingly a lot, make up nicknames for his poorly chosen government employees and set the bar as low as possible for all future presidents.

In other words: Brolin will be portraying President George W. Bush in an upcoming biopic from Oliver Stone, tentatively titled Bush.

Will Josh Brolin make a convincing President Bush?

The controversial director recently spoke to Variety about the project:

“It’s a behind-the-scenes approach, similar to Nixon, to give a sense of what it’s like to be in his skin,” Stone said. “But if Nixon was a symphony, this is more like a chamber piece, and not as dark in tone. People have turned my political ideas into a cliche, but that is superficial.

I’m a dramatist who is interested in people, and I have empathy for Bush as a human being, much the same as I did for Castro, Nixon, Jim Morrison, Jim Garrison and Alexander the Great.”

Box Office Results: Mad Money is a Mad Bomb

kat_hom.jpg Katie Holmes might wanna stick to being Tom Cruise’s baby-making slave.

The actress’ comedy Mad Money, co-starring Queen Latifah and Diane Keaton, sucked it up at the box office this weekend, faring worse than the Green Bay Packers.

Here’s a rundown of the preliminary top seven (no, Mad Money could not even crack the top five):

  1. Cloverfield: $41 million
  2. 27 Dresses: $22.4 million
  3. The Bucket List: $15.2 million
  4. Juno: $10.3 million
  5. National Treasure: Book of Secrets: $8.1 million
  6. First Sunday: $7.8 million
  7. Mad Money: $7.7 million

Critics have slammed Holmes for her role in the heist flick, with The New York Times calling her “the movie’s weakest link.” Ouch.

Sunshine Cleaning Movie Synopsis, Review

Once again, a movie with the word “Sunshine” in the title is creating buzz at The Sundance Film Festival.

In the past, of course, Little Miss Sunshine became an indie darling. This year? That honor falls to Sunshine Cleaning.

From the producers of Little Miss Sunshine, Sunshine Cleaning is a dark comedy that stars popular young actresses Amy Adams (Rose) and Emily Blunt (Norah). The always-hilarious Alan Arkin also has a role.

Sunshine Cleaning

The movie takes off when Rose’s son is expelled from school after licking his teacher’s leg. In order to raise the tuition for private school, Rose stumbles upon the idea of starting up a lucrative Crime Scene Clean-up business with Norah, who is still living in her father’s (Arkin) house.

Got all that?

Sunshine Cleaning takes on a darker tone that other movies in this genre, which allows the film to function more as a drama than a comedy. Of course, every moment Arkin is on screen is absolute hilarity. We love that guy.

Mary Lynn Rajskub (24) also makes an appearance - and she’s wonderfully awkward as always.

The Air I Breathe Movie Trailer

The Air I Breathe is based around the concept that life can be broken down into four emotional cornerstones: happiness, pleasure, sorrow and love.

As such, a businessman (Forst Whitaker) bets his life on a horse race; a gangster (Brendan Fraser) sees the future; a pop star (Sarah Michelle Gellar) falls prey to a crime boss (Andy Garcia); and a doctor (Kevin Bacon) must save the love of his life.

Here’s the preview for film, which is in select theaters now:

Shia LaBeouf Dishes on Indiana Jones 4, Tranformers 2

Shia LaBeouf recently chatted with Comingsoon.net about a pair of blockbuster movies: Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystall Skull and Transformers 2.

Here are highlights of the chat:

CS: Any word or update on Transformers 2?
Shia LaBeouf: We’re in the middle of a strike so you can’t write a script and you can’t make a movie without a script, so that’s where we’re at.

CS: Is there any truth to you continuing the “Indy” franchise on your own?
LaBeouf: Am I into it? Who wouldn’t be? I don’t think that’s reality. It’s a fun rumor.

CS: Is there anything you’re looking forward to seeing in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull?
LaBeouf: The movie. I’m just as anxious as you guys are. I haven’t seen anything. [Spielberg's] just secretive with certain people. He’s locked in a room. And then George [Lucas] gets his cut. It’s not like, “Hey it’s Shia’s viewing time.” I’ll see it when the premiere.

The Movie Trailer for Stop-Loss

G.I. Joe Casting Change: Sam Worthington Out

Sam Worthington had been a reported contender to play the lead role of “Duke” in Paramount’s G.I. Joe movie. But that seems unlikely to be the case.

Bur rumors now state that Worthington’s schedule shooting James Cameron’s sci-fi epic Avatar ultimately couldn’t accommodate G.I. Joe. Therefore, who is in the running to play Duke?

According to Latino Review, Chris Evans (Fantastic Four, Sunshine), Matthew Fox (Lost, Vantage Point), and Channing Tatum (Step Up, Supercross) are the three frontrunners for the role.
