Changeling Photos, Plot Description

Changeling is directed by Clint Eastwood and stars Angelina Jolie. In other words:

Expect a blockbuster.

The film comes out in November, 2008, and here’s a summary of it, along with a couple pictures from the set:

Jolie plays Christine Collins, a mother whose prayers are met when her kidnapped son is returned. However, amidst the frenzy of the photo-op reunion, she realizes this child is not hers.

Facing corrupt police and a skeptical public, Collins desperately hunts for answers, only to be confronted by a truth that will change her forever.

Sweeney Todd 2 in the Works?

Take this with a grain of salt the size of Sweeney Todd’s thirst for revenge, but…

The younger cast members of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street are hoping to star in a sequel to the gory musical.

For example, Jamie Bowers, who plays the love-struck sailor Anthony, wants his character and his lady love Johanna (played by Jayne Wisener) to run away together and begin a new killing rampage.

“We’re the killers this time,” he said to MTV. “But you can’t tell anyone yet.”

However, the would-be couple have some competition from street kid Toby, who actually commits acts of violence in Sweeney Todd.

“He’s quite a troubled young man, he’s seen a lot,” said Ed Sanders, who plays the character“I think he would be the next Sweeney Todd.”

Sanders theorizes Toby would throw people “straight in the fire,” as opposed to slicing them open in a chair.

“I think that’s because that’s what’s traumatized him the most,” he said. “I’m sure there’s many other possible outcomes. It’s worth thinking about.”

Emmy Rossum Blogs About Dragon Ball Movie

Emmy Rossum recently blogged about training and filming with Chow Yun Fat for the live-action film Dragonball, set to his theaters in the summer of 2008.

Rossum portrays inventor/scientist Bulma, whose father’s Dragon Ball is stolen by Piccolo. Here’s a excerpt of her blog post:

“Sorry I’ve been rather quiet for a bit, I’ve been working on a very exciting new film that I’m shooting outside the US. I’m working with the great Chow Yun Fat and I’m very excited about the role, which is so different than any role I’ve ever played. I love the character and I’m excited to get to share something so fun with you.

In prep for the film I’ve been training very hard, learning how to fight, fire a gun, weapons training and even some martial arts. It’s fun to play such a different character when I am such a pacifist in real life. Speaking of pacifisim and peace, I want to wish everyone a happy, healthy holiday and New Year.”

Nicolas Cage Explains National Treasure Character

As National Treasure: Book of Secrets cleans up at the box office, its star has already said he’d be in for a third movie in the franchise.

What else does Nicolas Cage have to say about the film? Here’s a recent interview:

Q: How are you like Ben Gates, your character?
Nicolas Cage: One of the things that come to mind is ancestors. In a lot of, so called, primitive cultures there is a tremendous respect for our ancestors. We don’t see that as much, for whatever the reason, in modern American culture. With Ben, I wanted to make it clear that he really believes, probably because the grandfather, played by Christopher Plummer, knighted him at such an early age.

He took it to heart and he really believes, in a chivalrous way, that everything he today is because of his ancestors. They are not dead to him, they are still there with him, and he’s honoring them. I like that about him. I think I try to embrace that in my own life. Also history, it’s a quid pro quo, I think because of playing Ben Gates I really appreciate history now.

I enjoy being in places that I feel the weight of past events. I like old architecture, old buildings, and if you use a little imagination you can time travel.

On the Set with Kat Dennings and Michael Cera

MTV recently went on set of the upcoming comedy Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist.

The film is based on a book and stars a pair of hot young actors: Michael Cera and Kat Dennings.

“[Cera's character] and I meet kind of by chance at a show for his band, the Jerkoffs, and end up kissing sort of by accident, but not really by accident. And then we get mad at each other, then fall in love a little bit, then get really mad, then fall in love a little bit more,” said Dennings, who is most recognized for playing Catherine Keener’s daughter in The 40-Year-Old Virgin.

“And I find Jesus in a bathroom at one point. There’s just so many things in this movie that I actually can’t keep track of them all.”

Cera added:

“It doesn’t tout itself as the be-all-end-all of youth. Nothing seemed too preposterous in it. It’s just a good story of one night going all around Manhattan.”

Kristen Stewart Speaks on Adventureland

Adventureland is director Greg Mottola’s follow-up to Superbad. In other words: it should be hilarious.

And beautiful. The presence of young actress Kristen Stewart ensures that. She recently spoke to IGN.com about the film:
IGN: Were you a fan of director Greg Mottola?
Kristen Stewart: I loved Superbad - it was so real and earnest. He’s written and directed Adventureland and we shot it in Pittsburgh. I play the love interest of Jesse Eisenberg.

Kristen Stewart

IGN: Is it going to be full of jokes like Superbad?
Kristen Stewart: It’s not as broad a comedy. There is something about it that is similar to Superbad, but it’s not the comedy per se. It’s set in the same world of those teenagers. What’s great is that it’s like I know these kids and their stories. What is amazing about Greg is that even the clichés that are in the film, such as kids just wanting to get laid and wanting to get drunk, are dealt with in a way that is real and sympathetic because he is really on the same level.

That’s why his characters don’t seem comedic, but rather are such real human beings. It’s not like watching a sensationalised version of your teenager life.

IGN: So how would you categorise the film?
Kristen Stewart: It’s more of a drama than Superbad; you could say it’s a dark comedy drama. In the cast, we have a couple of SNL members and also that group of crack Superbad actors. I think it will be really funny yet be grounded by the actual story of a kid finding love for the first time.
