Here's the movie trailer for the upcoming comedy starring Vince Vaughn, Fred Claus:
We'll have more information on this as it comes in, but rumors are spreading that Teresa Palmer has been cast as Wonder Woman in the hugely-hyped upcoming movie, Justice League of America.
The actress has previously starred in December Boys and The Grudge 2.
Like a flash, The Flash has a new man behind the camera.
Wedding Crashers and Fred Claus director David Dobkin revealed to MTV News that he's signed with Warner Bros. to bring the comic book hero to the big screen in a solo project, taking over for Shawn Levy who has left for undisclosed reasons.
As followers of The Flash know, of course, this movie won't be the first time we see the fleet-footed an on screen: he'll play a major part of the upcoming Justice League of America. But while fans wait for that story and casting announcements, Dobkin gave the following hint of his flick:
Asked which version of The Flash would be the hero of his flick, Dobkin didn't hesitate. "Wally West," he said.
The Flash has certainly courted directors primarily known for their comedic work. However, this doesn't mean they'll treat the character like a joke, Dobkin said. Asked about his vision for the Flash, Dobkin revealed with a somewhat melancholy tagline:
"You can't outrun yourself."
It's a pretty good time to be John Cho right now.
The actor is playing the role of Sulu in the new Star Trek movie, but recently focused on another follow-up film with IGN.com: Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay.
Cho said reuniting with Kal Penn for the film was "really easy. There's absolutely a period, initially, where you're kind of feeling everybody out and feeling how things will be.
I remember on the first one Kal and I went up to Toronto where we shot and we tried to hang out as much as possible, get to know each other, and try to develop something and become friends, essentially, in time for the movie, so that it felt a little bit more real.
And this time it was just slipping on an old, dirty pair of socks."
The actor didn't want to give too much away, but did say How I Met Your Mother star Neil Patrick Harris would reprise his role from the original as, well, himself.
"Instead of giving anything away, let me assure everyone that Neil Patrick Harris is gonna blow your minds again. You thought he wasn't going to be able to do it. You thought you'd seen it.
You thought 'Ah, I know what that's about.' No. No. Neil Patrick Harris is gonna get into some business and it's gonna be dirty. But it's gonna be funny."
Sisters Elle and Dakota Fanning will star with Cameron Diaz in My Sister's Keeper, the Nick Cassavetes-directed adaptation of the Jodi Picoult novel.
Production on the flick begins this March in Los Angeles. No release date has been set yet.
Elle Fanning will play a young girl who sues for emancipation from her parents because they conceived her as a genetic match with the hope she could prolong her cancer-ridden sister's life, Variety reports.
Jeremy Leven wrote the script, and Mark Johnson will produce. Both teamed with Cassavetes and New Line on The Notebook.
This movie marks the first time that the girls will work in scenes together on a film; both appeared in I Am Sam, but never together.
Bond 22 was supposed to be the second to last James Bond movie for Daniel Craig.
But MGM chairman and CEO Harry Sloan says that's no longer the case.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Sloan "called franchises 'the base of any studio,' which is why he signed Daniel Craig to do four more James Bond films after Bond 22 hits the theaters around Thanksgiving 2008.
In other Bond news: MI6.co.uk reports that Camila Alves is "under early consideration" for the Bond Girl role in Bond 22.
The Brazilian model is best known right now as the girlfriend of Matthew McConauhgey.
The rumors appear to be true: there's gonna be a Mad Max 4.
We can't imagine Mel Gibson starring in the follow up... even though he has certainly proven to be quite mad these days.
But Moviehole reports that Mad Max: Fury Road is finally ready to start production this week at Fox Studios in Sydney.
The site speculates that Mad Max: Fury Road will be released just before the much-hyped Justice League of America.
The filmmakers will have to find a new title character, of course, but no names have been released yet.
The original three films in the franchise starring Gibson featured the actor playing a cop in a futuristic Australian dystopia ruled by wandering groups of thugs, all fighting over precious resources, such as gasoline.
This sequel will take place in a similar setting.
Many of you have read the book, but here's a look at The Kite Runner. It hits theaters this winter...
Jennifer Connelly is an Oscar winner. But she's also known for playing the roles of wives and girlfriend.
That's why, as she told MTV News, the actress is so excited to star in He's Just Not That Into You.
"I've done so many movies where I've been a wife or a girlfriend and less where I'm playing just a friend," Connelly said. "That's one of the things that was exciting about [being in] ‘He's Just Not That Into You.'"
Based on the popular self-help book of the same name, the movie follows several stories, each of them told "in sort of chapters," Connelly said, "chapters on this thematic idea" of how to tell when a man is interested in a relationship.
While Connelly is excited about the role, she would change one thing: she'd love to, you know, her actually meet the other women
"I don't meet the other girls," the actress said. "Scarlett Johansson is in the closet for one of my scenes! But I'd like to write some scenes where I meet all the other women in the movie, because there are some great girls in it."
Damn right.
Aside from Connelly and Johansson, the movie also stars Jennifer Aniston, Drew Barrymore and Ginnifer Goodwin. Ben Affleck and Bradley Cooper play a couple of the guys.
Sony Pictures has set a February 2008 start date for production on Angels & Demons, The Da Vinci Code sequel. It's slated to hit theaters in December 2008.
With a writers' strike on the horizon, this is an example of a quick deal-making decision made in order to get a film made before any work stoppage.
Tom Hanks will reprising his role as religious conspiracy investigator Robert Langdon, while director Ron Howard, screenwriter Akiva Goldsman, and producer Brian Grazer are all back for the second movie adapted from Dan Brown's mystery novels. Casting is now underway.
Although The Da Vinci Code grossed a relatively disappointing $217.5 million domestically in 2006, it was gigantic overseas, where it banked a jaw-dropping $540.7 million.
Due to the success of that film, Sony gave the go-ahead to Angels & Demons, which Brown had actually written before 2003's The Da Vinci Code became an runaway bestseller.
