Super Troopers 2: It's a Go!

Here's juvenile and twisted music to the ears of Super Troopers fans everywhere.

"We've decided we want to do it," says Broken Lizard's Paul Soter about the long-rumored sequel to the comedy group's 2001 classic.

Soter admitted to MTV that the quintet that makes up Broken Lizard have approached the idea of a sequel with much trepidation.

"There was a period of time where it seemed to us that the only way people recognized us at all was as Super Troopers. So we thought, let's get a few other films under our belt just to let people know that it's not the only thing that we do," said Soter.

With more recognition (if not astounding box office grosses) from films such as Beerfest and Club Dread, Broken Lizard now feels confident enough to go back to the scene of their greatest success.

"The more we thought about it we said we should do it," says Soter. "They are great characters and we still have a lot of material left over."

They're Ba-ack!

Eddie Murphy to Star in Fantasy Island

The ManEddie Murphy sees da plane! Da plane! The Oscar nominee is attached to star in a feature film version of the TV classic Fantasy Island.

Murphy was first linked to the project a few months ago by IESB.net and now The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that the Dreamgirls and Beverly Hills Cop star will topline the project.

Fantasy Island will be produced by John Davis, Marc Toberoff, Leonard Goldberg and Lucas Foster.

According to THR, "Murphy will play multiple roles in the film. ... Described as a family-oriented comedy, the project will be written by Jay Scherick and David Ronn, who most recently teamed with Murphy on Norbit."

Gee, that makes us oh so very excited for Fantasy Island.

Michael Moore Latest, Sicko, Set for June 29 Release

Have you gone Bowling for Columbine? Reached Fahrenheit 911?

If so, it's time to get Sicko.

According to Harvey Weinstein, the health care system documentary will actually unify Republicans and Democrats. He claims to have seen the film with members of both parties - and all viewers have been in agreement that it portrays the U.S. health care industry in its rightfully negative light.

Oddly, the problem with the film being less controversial than Michael Moore's previous efforts is that it might make it a hard sell to audiences who would rather spend their movie money on a happier topic of film, such as Pixar's Ratatouille.

The Portly Filmmaker

Similar to what the Weinsteins did with Fahrenheit 9/11, the new documentary will be distributed domestically by Lionsgate.

Tim Roth Cast as Villian in New Incredible Hulk Movie

The ManIn June 2008, a new version of The Incredible Hulk hits theaters. Oddly enough, it has nothing to do with the disastrous film from a few years ago that starred Eric Bana.

In the upcoming flick, Edward Norton has already signed on to star as Bruce Banner - and we just found out against whom he'll be squaring off: the oversized adversary Abomination; and Tim Roth will play the villain's alter ego, Emil Blonsky.

Variety says Roth is joining Norton and Liv Tyler in the Louis Leterrier-directed film, which is being financed by Marvel Studios and distributed by Universal Pictures on June 13, 2008.

Blonsky is a KGB agent who deliberately exposes himself to the gamma rays that caused Banner to morph into the Hulk. Blonsky has upped the dosage, making him larger and stronger than the Hulk, but unable to change back to human form. He blames Banner for his problem, and makes his best efforts to destroy the Hulk.

Shrek 4 Director, Writer, Release Date Lined Up

A Lovable OgreWe haven't even been graced with the presence of Shrek the Third on our movie screens yet.

But that doesn't mean it's too early to start planning for the fourth installment of this enjoyable franchise.

Mike Mitchell, the man behind the camera on modern-day comedy non-classics like such as Sky High and Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo, is in talks to direct the flick, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Mitchell would direct from a script by Tim Sullivan that will trace the further adventures of Shrek and his friends.

There's no word on the fourth film's story, but Cameron Diaz recently told the press that she's pushing producers to take the next film in an even greener direction. The eco-friendly actress has told DreamWorks' honcho Jeffrey Katzenberg that she'd like the flick to have an environmental message.

"Maybe the swamp could be in danger, or something," she said.

Shrek 4 has been tentatively set for a 2010 release. Shrek the Third. directed by Chris Miller, opens in theaters everywhere on May 18.

Jessica Biel to be a Street Fighter?

The BodyJessica Biel is gorgeous.

But for an actress that claims she wants to earn a living for her talent more than her looks, we can't say the following choice will help such a cause:

Reportedly, Biel is up for the role of Chun Li in the forthcoming 20th Century Fox adaptation of the classic video game Street Fighter. A source for the site claims that Keira Knightley and Jessica Alba have already passed on the Hyde Park-produced project and that Biel is next in line for an offer.

The new film will be pretty much unrelated to the 1994 silliness that starred Jean-Claude Van Damme, except for the common source material. Jessica can at least be thankful for that.

Screenwriter Justin Marks has been hired to pen the script for the movie which will center around the game's prolific female fighter, Chun Li. Other details of the story are being kept secret.

Street Fighter is targeted for a 2008 release.
